As most of you know, MOAA national has been working for years to end this offset, the Widow's Tax. This year MOAA is making a major effort to finally change the law by working the Congress to first get co-sponsors for the bills in the Senate and House, and then to get votes to pass the change in the law. Over 65,000 widows are impacted by this law. This includes 1762 in Tennessee and 162 in Congressman Kustoff's district.

Congressman Kustoff is co-sponsoring the House bill, as is every Tennessee representative except one, and both senators support the senate bill. Please contact Congressman Kustoff to thank him. It makes a difference when we let him know we are here.

Another important way you can support this effort is by signing a petition that will be presented to President Trump and the Congressional leadership. We have 104,478 signatures so far and are shooting for 150,000. You can sign the petition by going to Change.org, and going down to Veterans, which will bring up the petition. It's quick and easy.
